Course Description
Through exegetical and expositional methodology, the books commonly called the “general epistles” (James, Jude, 1-2 Peter, and 1-3 John) will be studied systematically. Special attention will be given to the most important themes in each book.
Course Goals
Upon completion of this course the student should:
- Articulate the occasion and purpose for each of the General Epistles.
- Comprehend the core message of each of the General Epistles and how that message is developed through the structure of each book.
- Be able to identify the primary characteristics of false teachers and the threats that they pose to the healthy function of the body of Christ.
- Know how to apply the major teachings of each book to their own life and ministry.
