This course is a verse-by-verse exposition of the gospel of mark. This course is taught in a manner that emphasizes the historical and cultural setting in which the book was written, while challenging the student to bridge the gap from the biblical world to their own for the purpose of application.

Upon completion of this course the student will;

  • Understand the historical framework in which the Gospel of Mark was given and how that background impacts our understanding of the Book.
  • Be able to evaluate contemporary cultural narratives regarding the meaning and purpose of life in light of the Biblical worldview of these issues as presented in the Gospel of Mark.
  • Be challenged to take their identity based on Mark’s presentation of Christ and thereby find their place in His Story.
