In reply to Csygit. A great point and also another perspective on brokenness. Brokenness is from all humans born under the earth curse of sin since Adam & Eve. So it is either by our doing or someone else’s that we become broken.

This is true in many ways, however, it lacks the understanding of how much brokenness can occur in the lives of innocent people through no fault of their own. Abuse is real and it can devastate people’s lives. The church needs to grow in understanding the long-term effects of abuse/loss and be much more gracious and available to the broken people who have been wounded through no fault of their own. The idea that all brokenness come strictly from the sin of the person who is broken is short-sighted and can be damaging. Not only did the individual have to suffer at the hands of an abuser, but when they try to get support and help for their wounds, they are seen as “wanting pity” or not being mature spiritually. It is not immature to have emotional wounds you did not cause. In many cases, these individuals have suffered far more than the average person, and if they walked through that suffering with Jesus, they are more wise and mature than the people around them, they simply need love and support. I pray people open their eyes and see with a greater depth of understanding.

That was beautifully said. I to believe brokenness come from our sin. You’re so sorry and you hate what you did until you turn from it and turn to Almighty God to be heal. But the pain is sometimes still there. Thank you for for the truth.
